Justin Herbert and Keenan Allen team up to humiliate Trevon Diggs at joint practice

Justin Herbert and Keenan Allen have so much chemistry that even in practice, they can toast some of the game’s better players, including Trevon Diggs.

Justin Herbert is a star quarterback. Keenan Allen is a prolific wide receiver. Together as teammates, they embarrassed Trevon Diggs and savored the moment.

During a joint practice between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Dallas Cowboys, the quarterback and wide receiver hooked up on a pass play over the cornerback for a highlight-worthy catch that was both hilarious and humiliating, the latter being felt by the defender.

This moment shows Diggs what type of player he is. When he’s hot, it’s best to avoid him. When cold, sling in his direction, and you get big plays.

In the case of Herbert and Allen, it’s a small glimpse of what the Chargers are hoping to see much of this season, given the amount of money invested in several players, along with the aggressive mindset they have of building a championship roster around Herbert while he is still on a rookie-scale contract.

Justin Herbert and Keenan Allen embarrass Trevon Diggs and provide a lesson on what great tandems can accomplish.

The good news for Diggs is this is a practice play. All he has to do is get more consistent and not be so susceptible to route changes on the fly. Though he gave up a ton of yards last season, he did record 10 interceptions.

As it pertains to Herbert and Allen, they need to stay great. Given the division they play in and what’s expected of the team as a whole, plays like this on the offensive side of the ball may need to happen at a higher rate to frustrate defenses and open up passing lanes.
