DWCS Week 4: Thomas Paull vs. Esteban Ribovics weigh-in results.
On Monday, Aug. 15, 10 fighters vying for a UFC contract will weigh in for Dana White’s Contender Series week 4.
Following an exciting yet unusual week 3 that saw Clayton Carpenter, Erik Silva, and Jamal Pogues receive UFC contracts while world-renowned prospect Bo Nickal was awarded a second DWCS 2022 fight, week 4 will look to bring new blood into the UFC’s lightweight, middleweight, bantamweight and women’s bantamweight divisions.
The headlining bout of DWCS week 4 is a lightweight clash between Thomas “Juggernaut” Paull and Esteban “El Gringo” Ribovics. Paull (11-3), who is Tapology’s No. 6-ranked British lightweight, will be facing one of the toughest challenges of his career in Ribovics (10-0). The undefeated Ribovics is Tapology’s No. 1-ranked Argentinian lightweight and carries a 100 percent finish rate, with exactly half coming by knockout and half by submission. He is the largest favorite on the week 4 card by a wide margin at -350.
At DWCS week 4, 10 contenders across four different divisions will fight for the chance at a highly coveted UFC contract
The opening fight of the evening is another 155-pound battle between Nazim Sadykhov (6-1) and Ahmad Suhail Hassanzada (9-1). Despite being the second largest favorite at -260, the knockout artist Sadykhov will face a more experienced and versatile foe in Hassanzada. Of Hassanzada’s nine wins, five come by knockout and four by submission, showing he is equally dangerous on his feet as he is on the ground.
The second fight of DWCS week 4 is a women’s bantamweight scrap between the Texan Hailey “All Hail” Cowan (6-2) and the Brazilian Cláudia Leite (7-2), followed by a men’s bantamweight battle between Jack Cartwright (10-0) and Jose “Lobo Solitario” Johnson (14-7).
The fourth and final fight before the main event is a middleweight bout between Claudio Ribeiro (9-2) and Iván “Bam Bam” Valenzuela (8-1). These fighters are only a few months apart in age, and the odds are nearly even for this 185-pound clash. While Ribeiro has finished all his fights via knockout, Valenzuela holds three submission victories and presents a dual threat to Ribeiro.
