Week 3 MMA fighter training: A major setback.
Ugh, this week sucked on so many levels.
It started out great, Monday and Tuesday training pushed me out of my comfort zone and each time I was nervous, I did the exercise and pushed through. But I started feeling not right on Tuesday night, I was suddenly lethargic and had debilitating stomach cramping. I took myself to urgent care where after some investigation we discovered I had likely picked up a parasite when I was in Mexico just a few weeks before.
I was put on medication (which they told me would make me feel worse before I got better) and was basically bedridden throughout the rest of the week.
It killed me to know I was missing training but I knew I needed to pay attention to my body and rest so that I would be good to go for week 4.
