Kubrat Pulev knocks out Frank Mir on his feet in Triad Combat debut
Raiders are reportedly turning away head coaching inquiries
Boxer Kubrat Pulev dismantled MMA former champion Frank Mir dangerously in the main event of Triller’s Triad Combat. Mir needs to stop fighting.
Frank Mir is 42 years old, and Kubrat Pulev is 40. There’s not much of an age difference between them, but there’s a world of difference in what they have left in the tank.
Former boxing title contender Kubrat Pulev and former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir shared a triangle ring in the Nov. 27 main event of Triller’s new advent Triad Combat.
It was clear from the opening bell at Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX, that Mir shouldn’t have been in with Pulev. Really, he shouldn’t be fighting anybody.
Kubrat Pulev brutalized Frank Mir in their Triad Combat main event
Pulev used his size and superior hand skills to beat up Mir. The fight was never competitive, and Mir was hurt for almost the entirety of the round.
In the closing seconds, Pulev hit Mir with a combination that stunned Mir. He followed it up with a left hook the connected flush on Mir’s right temple. Mir staggered back and wobbled on his feet along the ropes with a blank expression on his face.
Pulev knew that he seriously hurt Mir and refused to attack. The referee was hesitant but called the fight off once Pulev started to advance towards Mir.
Pulev (28-2, 14 KOs) lost his last boxing bout to Anthony Joshua in 2020. He expressed to FanSided in a recent media call that he’s not done with boxing but is just seeing where the future goes.
