Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes message to fans after loss is true leadership

After back-to-back tough losses, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes leaves a message on Twitter for fans.

The only sure things in this life are death, taxes, and the love Kansas City has for Patrick Mahomes and his love for the city. From before the start of the season, the All-Pro quarterback has made efforts to connect with his city and the Kansas City Chiefs’ fanbase and lately, he’s been able to do it via tweets.

So, following back-to-back losses to Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers, Mahomes took to Twiter to reassure the Kansas City faithful.

Now, this isn’t the typical ‘everything’s going to be alright’ jargon that players try to comfort their fanbases with. No, it’s the 2018 NFL MVP declaring his commitment to working harder and getting better.

Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes facing early 1-2 deficit

No one could have imagined that Kansas City could be entering Week 4 with a 1-2 record but Mahomes is fixed on leading the Chiefs out of Philadelphia, their next opponent, with a victory.

While he’s had great statistical numbers, Mahomes and the Chiefs have trailed at some point in each of their three games this season. They were in each game up until the very last minute and only lost to the Ravens and the Chargers because of late-game heroics by the opposing quarterbacks and defense.

In the two losses, Mahomes has thrown for 603 yards and tossed six touchdowns and three interceptions.

The last time Mahomes had lost consecutive games was 2019 when they lost to the Colts in early October and then to the Texans the following week. Notwithstanding, the Chiefs went on to win the Super Bowl that season. So, maybe, these two early-season losses to really good opponents might serve as an omen of good things to come.

Look for a sharper and deadlier Mahomes against the Eagles next week.
