UFC Vegas 35: Andre Petroski stops Micheal Gillmore in UFC debut (Video)

UFC Vegas 35:  Andre Petroski defeated Micheal Gillmore.

Andre Petroski defeated Micheal Gillmore via TKO (strikes), Round 3 – 3:12 at UFC Vegas 35 on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021, live from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, NV.

“Somebody call Jeff Bezos because the next guy who steps into the octagon with me I’m sending them into orbit,” said Petroski.

From the very start of the fight, Petroski controlled the action. In the opening minutes, Petroski landed a right hand and immediately picked up and slammed his opponent. Petroski won the first round and then fought a back and forth second round. To start the third round, Petroski picked up and slammed Gillmore. Petroski was able to trap the arm of Gillmore and reigned down strikes with his opponent unable to escape. Referee Jason Herzog was forced to step in and stop the fight.

Petroski and Gillmore made their UFC debut on Saturday night. Both fighters were members of Team Ortega on The Ultimate Fighter 29. Petroski was eliminated in the semifinals. While Gillmore, who was an injury replacement, was submitted in the first round.

Petroski entered Saturday’s fight with a 5-1 record with five finishes. However, Petroski was knocked out in his last fight prior to The Ultimate Fighter. Gillmore won three straight fights to earn his shot on The Ultimate Fighter. The Michigan native entered the Octagon with a 6-3 career record.
