This Dak Prescott warm-up should have Cowboys fans celebrating (Video)

Dak Prescott’s sharp pregame workout before the Cowboys’ second preseason game was a good sign that the star quarterback will be fine for the season start.

Will Dak Prescott be ready to go for the Cowboys’ season opener? Based on his pregame workout on Saturday, things are looking up.

Prescott ran through a 52-pass workout at AT&T Stadium before the Cowboys game against the Texans.

According to observers, the quarterback hit all but one of his attempts and looked sharp while doing so.

One such observer was Jerry Jones, who had a very welcome update on his franchise star.

“He threw with authority and accuracy before the game. If we were lining up against Tampa tonight, he’d be starting and we’d feel great about it,” Jones said on 105.3 The FAN per Jon Machota of The Athletic.

Dak Prescott would start if the regular season were now

That’s exactly the kind of development that should take a huge weight off the shoulders of Cowboys fans who have been stressing over the health of their quarterback.

Prescott has been dealing with a shoulder problem since the end of July. The latissimus strain is actually an ailment more commonly associated with baseball players.

While he still looks on track to start the season opener against the Buccaneers, the lead into that game could definitely be better. Prescott hasn’t been able to practice for real for close to a month. He’s missed most of the critical prep time that could have helped him shake off the rust of not playing football for the last 11 months.

The Cowboys have to bank on Prescott getting back up to speed especially quickly with only a few more weeks before the regular season knocks on his door. At least he’s cleared another hurdle with this latest workout.
