Bellator 256: Liz Carmouche vs. Vanessa Porto official for April 9

Liz Carmouche vs. Vanessa Porto official for Bellator 256.

Bellator 256 has a new fight and that’s Liz Carmouche vs. Vanessa Porto for April 9. The second Bellator card for 2021 is already off to a swinging start with previously announced fights between Cat Zingano and Olivia Parker, as well as the headling fight between Ryan Bader and Lyoto Machida to kick off the Bellator Light Heavyweight Grand Prix quarterfinals.

UFC veteran, Carmouche, looks to make her sophomore appearance for Bellator following her successful promotional debut in September where she secured a submission over DeAnna Bennett.

Porto on the other hand will be making her promotional debut after a successful career fighting, most recently, for Invicta. She’ll enter the Bellator cage on a four-fight win streak with victories over Karina Rodríguez, Pearl Gonzalez, Mariana Morais and Milana Dudieva. She won the Invicta flyweight title in Feb. 2019 and then defended the title in Nov. 2019 before announcing she’d signed with Bellator. Porto has not lost a fight since 2017.

The official bout order has not been revealed yet, though it’s likely this fight could end up on the main card or high on the preliminary portion.

This will be the second card to air on Showtime and the second card for the new Bellator ranking system.

Here are the fights we have already confirmed for April 9 in no particular order.

  • Ryan Bader vs. Lyoto Machida
  • Corey Anderson vs. Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov
  • Cat Zingano vs. Olivia Parker
  • Liz Carmouche vs. Vanessa Porto
