Patrick Mahomes once again proved he’s more human than human with insane TD throw (Video)

When Patrick Mahomes turns it up to 11, the Chiefs usually get seven.

It’s hard to overstate how unfair the Chiefs are, specifically Patrick Mahomes.

Even more specifically, one of the scariest things in the NFL is what Mahomes and the Chiefs look like when they’re backed into a corner. Kansas City is almost never trying to dig itself out of a hole, but when they’re down they are never out.

See the AFC Divisional Game last year.

See the AFC Championship Game last year.

See the Super Bowl.

Also, see this weekend against the Carolina Panthers. What’s the saying, one of these things is not like the other? The three playoff comebacks for the Cheifs were the stuff of football lore, and a comeback against the Panthers is very much not in that category.

But that doesn’t make it any less spectacular.

Mahomes and the Chiefs fell into a 14-6 hole against the Panthers on Sunday which was pretty surprising to see. What wasn’t surprising was watching Mahomes bend the laws of reality to get the Chiefs back within striking distance.

With a flick of his wrist, Mahomes is capable of changing the entire momentum of the game. Up to this point, the Panthers were doing a phenomenal job of keeping the Chiefs offense off the field and running down the clock. Having a healthy Christian McCaffrey helps, but the key was keeping Mahomes off the field.

That touchdown pass is exactly why the Panthers strategy was less about winning a shootout and more about suppressing the Kansas City offense. Never count the Chiefs out, not in January, not in February, and not on a random Sunday in November.
